Munich Airport has increased its passenger capacity by 11 million with the construction of a new satellite terminal. Fifty-two new gates with 27 new aircraft positions have been built. The expansion programme included the satellite terminal, baggage handling system, people mover system (PTS), passenger boarding bridges and apron. The total cost of the satellite terminal amounted to around €650 million. Construction was completed on schedule and within budget in April 2016.
