Lufthansa planned a comprehensive modernization of its Lufthansa Cargo Center, which was originally built in the mid-1970s and has since reached its capacity limits. The objective of the project was to develop various scenarios for the future strategic positioning of Lufthansa Cargo AG.
Due to the existing building structure, consisting of freight halls with an adjoining office complex, the project covered both operational (cargo handling) areas and administrative spaces. In addition, the phased demolition of the existing buildings was required prior to the construction of the new Cargo Center.
