Energy Efficiency in Municipalities II: Engineering and Consulting Services for the Elaboration of Feasibility Studies in Kharkiv and Zhytomyr

Ukraine is one of the most energy-intensive countries in the world. As part of the decentralisation efforts since 2014, local authorities have experienced a significant strengthening of their financial accountability and, against this background, have been keen to achieve the greatest possible savings in energy consumption. With the aim of improving energy efficiency in public transport in selected municipalities of Ukraine, German Financial Co-operation with Ukraine, represented by KfW Development Bank, selected Dornier to elaborate the feasibility studies for proposed investment projects to improve the energy efficiency of the public transport systems in the Ukrainian cities of Kharkiv and Zhytomyr.

Our services at a glance:

  • Development of the feasibility study, including conceptual design and cost-benefit analysis
  • Provision recommendations to improve the energy efficiency of the tram and trolleybus network
  • Public transport infrastructure design for (re)construction/rehabilitation of Power SCADA systems
  • Financial and economic feasibility estimation for the preferred scenario
  • Preliminary Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (pESIA)
  • Development of capacity-building measures
