Consultancy services for updating the Saudi Railway Master Plan

The main objective of the project was to develop a strategic railway development plan for Saudi Arabia’s future passenger and freight network, including the strategies and measures required for its implementation. In addition, a railway business strategy and an economic assessment for a rail network of approximately 10,000 km were required.

Following the implementation of the initial plan and an update in 2016, Dornier was commissioned to carry out a further update of the railway development plan. The aim was to align the master plan with Vision 2030 and the new National Transport Strategy, while also incorporating key development projects such as NEOM and Al Ula.
