Analysis of Petropavl Transport System and Development of Recommendations and an Action Plan on Sustainable Urban Mobility

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with funding from the Global Environmental Finance Unit (GEF), supported Kazakhstan’s efforts on the reduction of climate change impact and on increasing energy efficiency in the urban sector.

Dornier supported the city administration of Petropavl in preparing a roadmap and creating a pool of investment projects to modernise the urban transport system based on different financing models. The aim was to develop recommendations and an action plan for improving the transport system to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve transport service quality in the long term.
