Installation of mercury emission measurements at the Schwarze Pumpe power station

The Schwarze Pumpe power plant in Lusatia is a 2 x 800 MW double-block plant based on lignite combustion. To ensure official monitoring of mercury (Hg) emission measurements, measuring systems were retrofitted to all four flue gas lines.

Two redundant compressor systems were installed to supply compressed air for the measurements. The integration of this plant technology into the power plant’s central EMI computer ensured that these emission measurements could be evaluated by the authorities. Dornier supported this project from the concept phase through planning, installation and commissioning to handover to the operator of the Schwarze Pumpe power plant.
