This assignment focused on developing a cost-benefit analysis and feasibility study to identify the best options for shifting road freight to rail, which envisaged conducting an analysis that could facilitate the identification of the most attractive measures to pursue in the next iteration of Georgia’s 2030 National Climate Strategy and 2021-2023 Action Plan. The main objective was to identify and evaluate the potential for shifting road freight to rail, considering the economic, social, environmental, and logistical aspects of the proposed measures. This initiative was a critical step towards developing a more balanced and efficient multimodal transportation system in the country.
