Vibration investigations on gas turbine plants

Shortly after commissioning, increased vibration values were detected on two of the three turbine sets in a GT plant in Algeria.

Using the stored online vibration data, Dornier Power and Heat was initially able to reconstruct the history of the vibration patterns since initial commissioning. Based on the results, Dornier performed modal and operational vibration mode analyses on all three plants to determine their dynamic behaviour.

In cooperation with the system manufacturer, measures were defined which subsequently led to the safe operation of the three plants.
