The Public Traffic Authority (PTA) in Saudi Arabia expanded its original mandate from regulating urban and intercity public transport to also covering rail, maritime, and freight transport, while the transport sector underwent numerous reforms — including Vision 2030, the National Transport Strategy 2030, the National Transformation Programme 2020, and a phase of extensive infrastructure investments and far-reaching structural changes.

Against this backdrop, the Authority commissioned Dornier to update its administrative and organisational structure to ensure the efficient fulfilment of its expanded responsibilities and to align its objectives with national strategies and long-term development plans.
