Strategic plan for the expansion of Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt Airport is one of the ten largest air traffic hubs in the world and continental Europe. It currently handles 420,000 flights per year.

Future traffic growth to a passenger volume of 80 million passengers per year will require infrastructure expansion. The planned expansion programme includes a new runway and a new terminal. The additional runway will increase flight capacity to up to 660,000 passengers per year. The new terminal complex will be connected to the existing terminal complex via an integrated, fully automated passenger transport system.
