Dornier is investigating the potential for solar power generation at Kiel Airport. The occurrence of possible glare effects is analysed and various options for the plant design are drafted. In addition, initial forecasts for the yield and profitability of the plant are calculated. Various marketing strategies are compared. Based on a market forecast for electric flying, the use of the solar power generated to charge aircraft and ground fleets is also evaluated.
